The Little Mermaid by Carolina Ballet  

Carolina Ballet presents The Little Mermaid at Fletcher Opera Theater beginning Thursday March 15th through April 1st.

Two-time Tony Award nominee Lynne Taylor-Corbett has created memorable choreography for Broadway shows (Titanic, Chess and Swing!) and films (Footloose, My Blue Heaven and Vanilla Sky). She also has created some of Carolina Ballet’s most popular works, including The Ugly Duckling, which was a big hit last season. Like that production, her world premiere version of The Little Mermaid also features an original commissioned score by Michael Moricz and will undoubtedly charm and entertain audience members of all ages.

Carolina Ballet serving the ever-expanding Triangle community that includes Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Fuquay-Varina and beyond. Carolina Ballet is one of America’s premiere arts organizations. Launched as a professional dance company in 1997 under the direction of Artistic Director/CEO Robert Weiss, Carolina Ballet has since garnered critical praise from the national and international media, staged 80 world premiere ballets, and toured internationally in China and Hungary. Weiss, former artistic director of the Pennsylvania Ballet and principal dancer at New York City Ballet under the legendary George Balanchine, programs traditional ballets by legendary masters and new works by contemporary choreographers.
